Artists Studio Network Ireland is a visual artists’ studio workspace network, formally established in February 2007 by forty-six visual artists’ studio providers at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, hosted by the Artists’ Residency Programme (ARP) at IMMA. This followed an earlier informal meeting in December 2006 held at Broadstone Studios Dublin and attended by thirty-eight studio representatives from across the thirty-two counties, responding to an open invitation to explore the benefits of creating an all island studio network of visual artists workspaces. ASNI is currently funded by membership subscriptions and operates on a voluntary basis by the Regional Representatives, with additional in-kind support from member studios.

ASNI would like to thank ACME Studios London — www.acme.org.uk for their valuable assistance and acknowledge credit to the National Federation of Artist Studio Providers UK — www.nfasp.co.uk — as an excellent resource when researching best practice as a guide towards developing a studio network in Ireland.
